VANCOUVER – Home sales in the Vancouver region were 8.4 per cent lower last month compared with a year ago, as fewer apartment-style homes changed hands.

Greater Vancouver Realtors says there were 1,717 home sales in September, which was 25 per cent below the 10-year seasonal average.

Andrew Lis, the board’s chief economist and vice-president of data analytics, says despite the overall decrease, attached and detached home sales were slightly above last year’s levels.
