Winnipeg-based Ag Growth International Inc. has acquired a U.S. technology company based south of Kansas City that provides solutions for grain growers.

Terms of the acquisition of IntelliFarms LLC, were not disclosed. The company provides hardware and software solutions that benefit grain growers, processors and others in the agriculture industry. Founded in 2001, sales at IntelliFarms last year were approximately US$11 million.

It is the second small-technology acquisition Ag Growth has completed this year.

In January, it acquired Toronto-based Improtech Ltd., a provider of engineering solutions to the food and beverage industry that does around US$5 million in annual revenue.

Ag Growth provides a wide range of products and services for agriculture bulk commodities with a growing platform of equipment and solutions for food-processing facilities. It has manufacturing facilities in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Brazil, South Africa, France and Italy.
