Mariette Mulaire, president and CEO of World Trade Centre Winnipeg and longtime Manitoba francophone trade advocate, has been named to the board of directors of the Bank of Canada.

Mulaire also serves as a member of the international board of directors of the World Trade Centers Association.

She joins four other new board members and becomes the first Manitoban on the board since Alan Borger’s departure in February 2017. Her term ends February 28, 2021.

Previously she was the president and CEO of l’Agence nationale et internationale du Manitoba (ANIM), the executive director for the Economic Development Council for Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities, and held positions with the Department of Western Economic Diversification Canada and the Department of Canadian Heritage. She was the co-chair of the Canada Games 2017 held in Winnipeg.
