Richardson International Limited continues to expand its retail crop inputs network on the Prairies with the acquisition of 10 more outlets.
The Winnipeg-based agri-business giant acquired the retail outlets — nine in Alberta and one in Saskatchewan — from CHS Canada LP. The transaction is expected to close in November.
The Alberta outlets are located in Alix, Beiseker, Bow Island, Carseland, Craddock, Lacombe, Rolling Hills, Standard and Vauxhall. The Saskatchewan store is located in Edenwold. All 10 are full-service outlets.
“We look forward to expanding our presence in these areas and working with local producers to provide them with leading seed, fertilizer and crop inputs technologies, supported by our CropWatch agronomy team and best-in-class service,” said Tom Hamilton, Richardson’s vice-president, Agribusiness Operations.
The former CHS Canada locations are the latest in a series of new additions to the Richardson Pioneer retail crop-inputs network. In August, it acquired two independent, full-service retail crop inputs centres in Vermilion and Forestburg, Alta. During the summer it also opened a new crop inputs centre in Elrose, Sask., and will be opening another new location in Pasqua, Sask. next month.
“We will continue to target strategic locations to expand our presence and ultimately offer our services, products and expertise to more producers across the Prairies,” Hamilton added.
