DISABILITY CASE MANAGER

Manitoba Blue Cross, an acknowledged leader in the health service industry in Manitoba, is seeking a progressive motivated individual with experience in the disability case management/rehabilitation community in Manitoba.

Working cooperatively in a team environment, the Disability Case Manager is responsible for assessing applications for Disability benefits and ensuring service delivery and program operations are effective and meet the needs of claimants and group program sponsors. This includes conducting early assessments, developing individualized rehabilitation plans with input and support of the claimant, employer and other stakeholders, documenting case reports and finalizing case management strategies.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong customer service orientation

• Experience in the development, execution, and monitoring of individualized
treatment/rehabilitation plans

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent in rehabilitation, occupational or physical
therapy, nursing, psychology, social work, or a similar discipline and 2 to 5 years
related experience

• Additional certification in Case Management an asset

• Prior experience in a rehabilitation management company or other related
industry an asset

• Good organizational and business skills, including an appreciation for the
administrative aspects of case management and claims adjudication

• Demonstrated case management skills, including work with psychosocial
disabilities and other medically complex and problematic cases requiring more
intensive treatment plans

• Knowledge of CPP, Workers’ Compensation, and other publicly sponsored worker
assistance programs

• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to relate well with claimants and all levels of
plan sponsor organizations

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to prepare and conduct
presentations and demonstrated experience in report writing

• Computer skills including Word, Excel, and ability to use other administrative
systems

• Availability of an automobile and valid Manitoba Driver’s License
