CALGARY (CP) – Centurion Energy International (TSX:CUX) has commissioned Stage 1 of the El Wastani oil and gas field upgrade project to boost production from the Egyptian field.
The Calgary company said Monday it had installed a mechanical refrigeration unit to impove condensate recovery. The second stage of the upgrade project, a new processing plant, is slated for completion by the end of December.
Once both projects are fully operating, Centurion will be able to recover another 3,600 barrels a day of liquids at the El Wastani operations.
The additional liquids, coupled with production from new El Wastani and Gelgel development wells, will help increase Centurion’s production rate from 32,000 barrels a day to 38,000 barrels by the end of the year.
Centurion Energy is based in Calgary but operates in the Nile Delta region in Egypt.
