TORONTO (CP) – Ambush, a high-energy country rock group dubbed “the little band with the big sound,” emerged as the winner of CMT Canada’s reality show “Plucked.”
During the two-hour live finale on Monday, more than 100,000 votes were tallied from text messages and online voting, the channel said. Fans chose Ambush’s video “This Could Be the Night” to be added to regular rotation on CMT’s music blocks.
Ambush, which got its start in’93 in Perth, Ont., will also receive $35,000 to make its next video.
The other contestants in the finale, staged at CMT’s Toronto studios were Carla Sacco, Pear, Aaron Goodvin, Mike Gouchie and Lisa Hewitt.
