QUESTION — I have to fix some settling cracks in my ceiling. The problem is that my ceiling has a textured pattern that I can’t imitate. How do I fix this?
ANSWER — There are texturing materials in spray form that may match the pattern on your ceiling. Check with your local home improvement centre. You might want to ask your home builder about the finish that was used on your home — and maybe you can buy the material straight from the source. This will improve your chances of not only getting the right pattern, but also the right colour.
However, if you cannot find the matching finish from the store or your home builder, you may want to hire a professional. While it may seem like an unnecessary expense, it will help maintain the quality and value of your home. It’s also unlikely to be a very expensive repair.
