Bee Maid Honey Ltd., a Winnipeg-based company owned by Prairie beekeepers, today unveiled new packaging equipment that will boost its St. James plant’s efficiency by 20 per cent.

Bee Maid, which operates a second facility near Edmonton, is the country’s largest processor of Canadian-sourced honey.

Guy Chartier, the company’s CEO, said the Winnipeg plant improvements will help Bee Maid meet its goal of boosting overall production by one million pounds a year over the next five years.
