A Winnipeg city councillor wants a new fire hall for southeast Winnipeg.

St. Boniface councillor Dan Vandal introduced a motion at city council’s meeting Wednesday, calling for funding for a new hall to be built in the city’s southeast be approved in next year’s budget.

Vandal’s motion says the ambulance and fire response times in that area are well below national safety standards and the area is the fastest growing area of the city.
