Beaver Bus Lines service from Winnipeg to Selkirk unaffected

BEAVER Bus Lines service between Winnipeg and Selkirk will not be affected by the relocation of the Greyhound depot to the Richardson International Airport, a company spokesman said.

Beaver operates a regular transit service between the two communities, with several stops along Main Street and Portage Avenue, which ends at Greyhound’s downtown depot on Colony Street. However, Greyhound is closing that depot tonight and will open its new depot at the airport Saturday morning.

Rick Brown, Beaver Bus sales manager, said the family-owned, Selkirk-based bus service will not extend its route to the airport.

Brown said the Beaver route will continue to end at the old depot site on Colony, adding however that passengers will disembark and board from the sidewalk instead of the old depot parking lot. There will be no change in the route schedule.

Brown said parcel and courier service between the two cities will be unaffected by Greyhound’s move to the airport.
