Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation

What they do:

FOR 14 years, The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation has raised money for numerous children’s charities in Manitoba. Whether it’s presenting sick children with a new stuffed animal, orchestrating fundraisers at a Manitoba Moose hockey game, donating new equipment to the Children’s Hospital, or raising money at a beer festival, the Yearling Foundation does it all.

Hopes for the holidays:

OVER the holidays the Yearling Foundation helps lift spirits of less-fortunate children in Manitoba.

Manitoba Moose players visit the Children’s Hospital and the Rehabilitation Centre for Children bringing gifts to hockey-loving kids.

The Foundation also offers a sports program for children who cannot afford to play.

“We take inner-city kids that would normally not have a chance to play hockey, and buy them hockey equipment and ice time,” said Trish Brown, co-ordinator of the Yearling Foundation. “We also help get some into the minor hockey system.”

How you can help:

THE Yearling Foundation is gratefully accepting financial donations and volunteers. If you are interested in supporting the Yearling Foundation, please contact Trish Brown at 987-PUCK or by email, tbrown@moosehockey.com.
