Easter of Eden: “The only solution is for spectators to stay away. $3 for a bottle of water is outrageous. The last time I attended a stadium sports event, we ate before entering and there was no way I would give up my water bottle. I can understand not allowing people to bring coolers… because some people are pigs and leave the garbage behind, but a bottle of water? No way. I protest with my wallet. These places will not see one dime from me.”

wpg_guy204: “Watch, once they get used to the free water they’ll demand a complimentary hotdog and foot massage upon entering the stadium.”

canuk2112: “There is a big difference attending a pro game here vs. one in the USA. Down there you’re allowed to have fun — the tailgate BBQ experience at an NFL game is one to be experienced.”

Blue4u: “If the concern is economics, instead of paying for 10 water coolers and supplying the water, wouldn’t it make more financial sense to allow fans to bring their own sealed water bottles?”

23599042: “What Buchko is not considering is the lack of revenue from the fans when they stop attending games and buying Bomber shirts. It is a community-owned team, if a few people would like to bring in outside food or drink and avoid the crap served at the games, let them. Stop alcohol. Yes, let people bring in food and water. At least the Bombers are trying to make amends.”

Furious3: “The fact this story was even written confirms the Bombers are a mess. We are not asking to bring in Thanksgiving dinners (what a foolish and extreme example to cite). We are just asking for common sense to prevail. Bombers seem to think everyone is trying to sneak a 26 through security.”

Henry Thrift: “It’s not like a Bomber game lasts all day long. Eat before you arrive. Pay 3 bucks for your water. Are people really losing their minds over this? How about we argue about the cost of a bag of peanuts? Get over it.”

roomie: “I believe that the entire issue is the condescending attitude of Bomber management towards the fans. It is about the security checks and being treated like a criminal for a water-bottle infraction. Even especially after they have been continuously lied to and led along about the new stadium.”

Briscodog: “Here’s an idea: Let everybody bring everything they want to eat and drink in, then when the team goes under because they can’t pay their bills, then everyone can whine about not having a football team and an empty stadium. It’s the same as the Jets games. Back in the day, everyone complained about $4.50 for a beer and the team leaves. Do you hear anybody whining about the $8 beers at the MTS Centre now that the team is back? We realize that we need to support the team or it won’t survive.”

cfingas: “First, you all complain about having to pay $3 for a bottle of water, now you complain that you’re getting free water instead of being allowed to bring in the water you pay for. Seems like all you really want is to whine and complain. If you want to whine about the price of things, then there’s plenty of others who’ll buy your tickets instead.”

klikoff: “Sorry, people, you wanted a new stadium and there is a cost AND the taxpayers want to see that loan paid back, so buck up!!!”

Northlands: “I don’t think you’ll find any venue in the city that is enclosed and sells food that will allow people to bring in any outside food and drink. I think our reputation in our city for being frugal is really showcasing itself here.”

Reader001: “$3 for a bottle of water sounds cheap compared to what you would pay at most sporting events. And for those who don’t want to pay, do you think you get a nice, new stadium or even maintain an old one, for free? Nothing in life is free.”
