Big Brothers Mentoring program provides boys and young men with a role model and a friend to talk to and share the experiences of growing up. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee that is built on trust and common interests. Male volunteer mentors are needed. Uniquely Manitoba is a non-profit corporation promoting Manitoba art, crafts and specialty foods. We are looking for volunteers to work with committees, organizers and artists in planning and running our 10th anniversary and several events leading up the celebration. Greeters, committee chair assistants, assisting artists with displays, database entry, telephone calling and more. Good Neighbours Active Living Centre needs a café volunteer to help prepare light lunches and snacks, clean up in the kitchen, handle cash transactions and record daily income. The café volunteer would also help in creating a warm, welcoming environment. If you enjoy working with the public, have experience handling food (not essential), are courteous, positive and a great organizer. Candace House is a newly established charity seeking to assist victims of serious crime by providing a safe, comfortable refuge near the Law Courts in Winnipeg. We are in need of a treasurer to sit on our board of directors. Responsibilities will include ensuring the annual financial statements are reviewed, that the organization meets compliance requirements with the Canada Revenue Agency and the province and in general provides financial advice to the board. Bouncing Beauties: (Run for the Cure Team) needs volunteers to gift-wrap presents at the Kildonan Place Mall, Nov. 18 to Dec. 24. All money collected will be donated to breast-cancer research. Four-hour shifts, day or evening, Monday to Sunday. Information: Lorraine 204-222-0358.

Spence Neighbourhood Association is seeking a community host volunteer to join our team and provide a respectful, welcoming and safe tone to our community office. The volunteer will be the first contact with community members. The volunteer must be willing to start immediately.
