Hey there, time traveller!

Remembrance Day is Tuesday. Try to get out and honour those who have served, those who continue to serve our nation, in war, military conflict and international peacekeeping. If you do venture out to show respect, a few reminders: wear a poppy, power your phone down and take your hat off.
Here is a handy guide to what’s open and what’s not fully open, along with some information on where some of the services in and around Winnipeg are being held:
Large Remembrance Day services
Winnipeg’s largest Remembrance Day service takes place at the RBC Convention Centre (375 York Ave.). The event is hosted by the Joint Veterans Association of Manitoba and the Canadian Forces. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. The public is asked to find a seat by 10:15 a.m., with the service set to begin at 10:45 a.m.
There will also be outdoor services at Vimy Ridge Memorial Park and on the Manitoba Legislative Building grounds.
Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship CHIPPAWA, Manitoba’s Naval Reserve Division (located at 1 Navy Way) is also holding a service. It gets underway at 10:15 a.m.
A service at the Valour Road Memorial Site (Valour Road at Sargent Avenue) is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
There is still time, meanwhile, to go check out the Victoria Crosses of Valour Road Exhibit at the Manitoba Museum. The exhibit closes on Sunday, Nov. 16. After that, the three crosses, awarded to three Winnipeg men for their actions in battle in the First World War, will be returned to their permanent home at the Canada War Museum in Ottawa.
