UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA ARCHIVES AND SPECIAL COLLECTIONS
Portrait of an Indigenous man wearing a decorated cap in the 1880s. The subjects in the photographs were reportedly paid for the use of their imagery in photographs sold by Hall & Lowe Studio. The photographs held at the U of M Archives & Special Collections were inherited by Connie Macmillan from her in-laws, Pat and Jack Macmillan, who may have in turn acquired the collection from their relatives, Norman and Ethel-Mae Burke. The U of M Archives purchased the collection in 2011 via Greenfield Books.
