After arriving in Canada as immigrants from Vietnam, restaurant owners in the West End are helping a nearby charity that houses refugees and asylum seekers.
On Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Pho Binh Minh restaurant at 819 Sargent Ave. is hosting an authentic Vietnamese lunch with all the proceeds going to Naomi House. The seven-bedroom transitional housing project on Ellice Avenue opened earlier this month to assist newcomers. Naomi House relies on donations and contributions of volunteers to operate.
