Handsome new year

Spend some time at the Handsome Daughter (61 Sherbrook St.) before you kiss your sweetie at midnight. Their New Year’s Eve bash, hosted by Real Love Winnipeg, features the musical stylings of Mise en Scene, Atlaas, and Odd Outfit beginning at 10:30 p.m. Doors open at 9:45 p.m.; tickets are $20, available through showpass.com or reallovewpg.com.

Whole lotta rock

Usher in the new year with some classic rock Monday as The Cavern hosts a three-set tribute to Led Zeppelin, Rush, and Black Sabbath. Doors open at 9 p.m.; tickets are $15, available at the door.

If your family’s resolution is to spend more time together, FortWhyte Alive (1961 McCreary Rd.) has you covered Tuesday through Friday. Their Frosty Family Fun Days features a different activity every day between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., including ice fishing, jam pail curling, ice bowling and photo hunting. Clash of the Jets

It will be Jets against Jets at Bell MTS Place on Wednesday as the 2019 Winnipeg Jets Skills Competition pits your favourite players against each other as they vie for the titles of hardest shooter, deftest deker, and speediest skater. The competition begins at 7 p.m.; tickets start at $14, available through Ticketmaster.

New year, new music

Head to the Good Will Social Club on Wednesday for their first “New Music Night” of the year, showcasing the talents of Whitebeard, Impressions Jazz Group, and Brazilian Vibes. The music begins at 8 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m.

Courageous canines

Marshall, Chase, and the rest of the PAW Patrol gang are leaping from your TV to the Centennial Concert Hall stage for a three-day stand, beginning Thursday. In PAW Patrol Live!, the pooches and their pals search for missing Mayor Goodway on the day of the Great Adventure Bay Race. Tickets start at $22 and are available at centennialconcerthall.com.
