Hey there, time traveller!

Jonathan Jones believes Orangetheory Fitness reinvigorated his passion to help other people achieve their fitness goals. After an incredible defensive career playing CIS football at the University of Manitoba as an outside linebacker, he was known for his ability to intercept plays; as such he has worked with many teams over the years and values the exchange between a coach and an athlete.

“Over the years, I have learned a lot about myself from playing for various organizations. I know what’s motivating and what helped me to bring out my best. I’m also aware of what brought me down, made me question my contributions. Each opportunity helped me get to get to know myself better.”

Jonathan knows well the feeling of wanting to win so badly, he could taste it. For himself and those coaches he admired.

“Not every day are you going to crush it at the gym,” he says – or in life for that matter. “Some days you know that you could have done more and those are the times when a coach is invaluable.”

That’s where Orangetheory Fitness cuts out the fat. (No pun intended). “By going back week after week to see someone who knows your struggles, what you’ve overcome or what you did yesterday creates a relationship where together you can achieve more together.”

That’s why the science behind Orangetheory Fitness is game changing, “It’s quantifiable and measurable,” says Jonathan. “We can see how you perform from one workout to the next, which becomes information for to us measure progress. Get over your threshold and break out of comfort zones,” he says, “see what you’re made of!”

The biggest misconception that people have is that there is one formula, but at OTF it’s always different. “We challenge and change our workouts constantly,” he says. “We know how to walk you right from start to completion including fitness corrections.”

A great coach knows your strengths and helps you to build upon them. Body language and heart rate monitors tell the story. “What separates us from many other gyms is that each workouts is connected. We map out a formula for targeted heart rate based on individual goals, but we also use cues to assess as we go.”

And, the skills that come along with elite coaching and training are transferable to many other areas outside of the gym. Mental focus and body awareness are life skills. “We’re in this together, “ he says, “with a shared purpose. This isn’t a trainer/client relationship; we’re more like teammates at Orangetheory. We’re here to give you all of the information we have to live your best life.”

Member-focused, results-driven training is what OTF is all about. Considering each class includes a personal coach to guide and correct you to ensure you are maximizing your time and efforts in every workout, Orangetheory Fitness is an investment in more than just your body. This investment gives you “More Life”!

“A positive mentor can greatly impact your life – not just in the gym, but the way you speak to yourself, the limitations you set and the way you show up in the world each day. By committing to achieving more in all that you do, you will see great gains in your profession, your family life and your mind-body and spirit wellness.”
