There will be no mosquito fogging tonight, the City of Winnipeg said in a Sunday press release. The program has been postponed due to the forecasted high wind speeds.

Yesterday evening, the City completed treatment in Insect Management Areas 20, 21, 24, 25, 30, 31, 32, 34, 44, and Maple Grove Park.

Saskatchewan RCMP has asked to extend the dangerous person alert to Manitoba and Alberta for suspects wanted in multiple stabbings.

The suspects, Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson, were last seen travelling in the Arcola Ave area around 11:45 a.m. in Regina in a black, Nissan Rogue with SK license 119 MPI, RCMP said.

Police have asked the public to take precautions and not to approach the suspects if spotted.

No other details were disclosed.

Winnipeg’s pro soccer squad posted its third consecutive victory — this time a 1-0 win over Forge FC (Hamilton) on Sunday at IG Field — and has jumped into the Canadian Premier League playoff picture.

Brett Levis booted in the game’s only goal in the second half for Valour, now 10-6-7 and in a tie for third place with Forge (11-3-8). The top four in the eight-team league qualify for CPL post-season play. Valour is a point ahead of Pacific FC and just a point behind second-place Cavalry.

Valour has five matches left in the regular season, including a meeting with HFX Wanderers on Saturday, Sept. 10 in Halifax.

REGINA – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers trail the Saskatchewan Roughriders 11-0 after one quarter of play at Mosaic Stadium.

The Roughriders (6-5) opened the game with an 11-play, 67-yard touchdown drive, capped off with a one-yard quarterback sneak from Cody Fajardo. Saskatchewan picked up a single on the ensuing kickoff to make it an 8-0 game fewer than six minutes into the game.

Brett Lauther then added a 47-yard field goal to put the home side up 11-0.

REGINA – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders are tied 17-17 at halftime in the Labour Day Classic at Mosaic Stadium.

The Roughriders jumped out to an 11-0 lead after the first frame, including an opening-game touchdown drive that was capped off with a one-yard run by quarterback Cody Fajardo. Kicker Brett Lauther has connected on three field goals, hitting from 47, 30 and 41 yards, respectively.

The Bombers found the end zone twice in the second quarter. The first touchdown came courtesy of a 50-yard pass from Zach Collaros to Nic Demski, followed by a 22-yard pass to Dalton Schoen later in the frame.

Marc Liegghio made a 42-yard field goal with no time remaining to tie the score at the break.
