The Winnipeg Jets have lost defenceman Johnathan Kovacevic to the Montreal Canadiens.

Bombers can clinch West with win over Elks

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers can clinch the West Division with a win over the Edmonton Elks Saturday at IG Field.

The B.C. Lions, who sit second in the West, lost to the Toronto Argonauts 23-20 Saturday afternoon, dropping their record to 10-5. A victory for the Bombers would improve their record to 14-2, making it impossible to be caught atop the division.

An Edmonton loss to the Bombers would eliminate the Elks from the playoffs.
