Winnipeg launches citywide snow-clearing operations

City of Winnipeg crews have begun plowing major streets, sidewalks, active transportation pathways and back lanes after more than 10 cm of snow fell on the city overnight.

Routes will be plowed based on the city’s priority system.  Major streets and adjacent sidewalks and active transportation paths will be cleared first, followed by bus routes and collector streets, and finally residential areas.

Residents can check on plowing status and report problem areas on the city’s website. Status is updated twice daily at 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

No winter or snow-route parking bans are currently in effect.
