A man and four youths have been charged after three teens were attacked with a machete and a man in his 40s was assaulted in separate incidents.
Winnipeg police said Wednesday the three teens were assaulted with a machete at about 7:15 Monday evening, by what was reported to be a group of youths in the 600 block of Sherbrook Street.
The victims, two boys and a girl, all 15 years old, were rushed to Children’s Hospital in unstable condition, but later upgraded to stable.
Police said a few minutes later a man in his 40s was attacked by a group of youths in the first 100 block of Juno Street.
The man was rushed to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.
Police arrested five suspects in the Centennial neighbourhood south of William Avenue. An 18-year-old man and four boys ranging in age from 12 to 17, were all charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one of assault.
All five are in custody.
