Shania Twain announces second show for arena in 2023

Singing sensation Shania Twain will take the stage at Canada Life Centre for a second time in 2023.

The Timmins, Ont., country and pop artist will play the downtown arena Nov. 7 on a second leg of her Queen of Me tour.

Twain announced earlier this year the first leg of the tour will stop at Canada Life Centre May 14.

Tickets for the November show go on sale Dec. 16 at livenation.com and ticketmaster.ca. Ticket prices haven’t been announced for the new concert, but the handful of those still available for the May show are among the priciest, ranging from $262.89 to VIP packages that cost more than $1,000.

Police chief to speak on landfill search for victims of alleged serial killer

Winnipeg’s police chief and the inspector of forensics will hold a press conference on concerns about the landfill search for the remains of three victims of an alleged serial killer Tuesday afternoon.

This comes after police said they believe the remains of three Indigenous women allegedly slain by Jeremy Skibicki earlier this year — Morgan Beatrice Harris, 39,  Marcedes Myran, 26, and the unidentified Buffalo Woman — are in a landfill site but a search would not be feasible given the time that’s passed since their deaths and the volume of material at the site.

The remains of victim Rebecca Contois, 24, were found in city trash bins and later, in the Brady Road landfill.

Chief Danny Smyth and Insp. Cam MacKid will speak to the press at 2:30 p.m.
