Neufeld loses championship semifinal

The Randy Neufeld team’s drive for another Canadian senior men’s curling title is over.

Neufeld’s Manitoba crew of Dean Moxham, Peter Nicholls and Dale Michie, playing out of the La Salle club, fell 4-3 to Alberta’s James Pahl in a semifinal this morning in Yarmouth, N.S.

The same foursome won the national title in 2015.

Manitoba plays Glen MacLeod Nova Scotia for the bronze medal today. Pahl meets Howard Rajala of Ontario in the championship game.

In the senior women’s final, Sherri Anderson of Saskatchewan goes for a remarkable fifth title when she meets Quebec’s Chantal Osborne.

Terri Ursel’s Neepawa foursome did not make the playoffs.
