Rittich starts in Seattle as Jets try to sweep road trip

SEATTLE — Backup goaltender David Rittich gets the start for the Winnipeg Jets tonight as they try to complete a weekend road trip sweet.

The visitors downed the Vancouver Canucks 5-1 on Saturday night at Rogers Arena to improve to 20-9-1 on the season.

Jets associate coach Scott Arniel said the same forwards and defencemen are expected to play. That means Michael Eyssimont and Ville Heinola would once again be the healthy scratches.

Winnipeg has six players currently on the injured list including Blake Wheeler, Nikolaj Ehlers, Mason Appleton, Saku Maenalanen, Nate Schmidt and Logan Stanley.

They’ll return home following the game and face the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night at Canada Life Centre.
