Crews respond to three fires Monday, no injuries reported
5:48 PM
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to three fires on Lansdowne Avenue, Dumfries Place and Cathedral Avenue Monday. No injuries were reported.
In the early hours of the morning, the WFPS were called to a fire in a two-storey, multi-family residence in the 100 block of Lansdowne Avenue. They fought the fire from inside, declaring it under control at 4:51 a.m. Everyone inside had safely evacuated. The city’s social services team helped find accommodations to displaced residents. The incident is under investigation.
Later at 8:52 a.m., another fire was reported in a single-family residence on Dumfries Place. The fire was tackled from inside and brought under control at 9:13 a.m. All occupants of the house safely self-evacuated. Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental, caused by an electrical issue.
Again, at 12:41 p.m. the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey apartment building in the 200 block of Cathedral Avenue. The fire was fought from inside and declared under control at 1:20 p.m. All occupants of the building safely self-evacuated. The city’s social services team helped find accommodations to displaced residents. The fire is believed to be accidental, caused by the improper use of incense.
