Woman groped on bus, suspect sought
1:31 PM
Police are searching for a suspect who sexually assaulted a young woman on a bus Saturday morning.
Police said the 19-year-old was on a bus in the St. Vital area at about 11:15 a.m. when an unknown man sat beside her. Police said Monday that the man suddenly touched her lower body “in an inappropriate sexual manner” and later followed the woman off the bus, then walked off in an unknown direction.
The man is described as white, in his 40s, with short grey hair and an average build.
The Winnipeg Police Service’s sex crimes unit is asking anyone with information about the incident or suspect to call 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).
Second man arrested in Flin Flon shooting
3:51 PM
A Winnipeg man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder for his alleged role in a shooting in Flin Flon in early May.
On May 4, Flin Flon Mounties were called to a home where the shooting occurred and found a 23-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries, RCMP say. Officers subsequently found another victim, a 28-year-old man, whose injuries were less severe. Mounties believe the shooting was targeted.
On May 7, David Anthony Benjamin Ross, 27 of Flin Flon, was charged with attempted murder and gun offences, RCMP say.
On June 14, RCMP officers arrested Riley Aaron Guiboche, 28 of Winnipeg, and charged him with the three counts, plus gun offences. He was remanded into custody.
