Police ask for help identifying injured man in Osborne Village

Winnipeg police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man found critically injured in Osborne Village.

Around 2:30 a.m. Friday, police responded to reports of an injured man on the roadway in the 400 block of Stradbrook Avenue. He was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a release.

Investigators believe the man was in a state of distress before being located. Police have limited information, the WPS said.

The major crimes unit is handling the investigation and asking anyone with video footage or information to contact police at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).

Saturday morning stabbing sends man to hospital

10:30 AM

A man is recovering in hospital after a stabbing in the Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood.

Around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, police and paramedics responded to a back lane in the 700 block of Wellington Avenue to find a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to the hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a release.

Investigators learned the victim may have been involved in an altercation near the 800 block of Home Street.

No arrests have been made, police said.
