Nine-year-old bitten by coyote

A nine-year-old boy was bitten by a coyote in the North Kildonan area on Saturday evening.
The boy was mauled, suffering multiple injuries, and was taken to hospital in stable condition, the Winnipeg Police Service stated. The incident happened while a 15-year-old girl and her nine-year-old brother were walking in the area of Popko Crescent and Knowles Avenue when they saw a coyote. The animal ran toward them as they fled, police said.
The police service says it’s working with the Conservation Officer Service regarding the incident.
Highway 10 reopened

A section of Highway 10 south of Dauphin that had been closed has now been reopened.
The closure, three kilometres south of the Highway 5 junction, was due to water line repairs.
