RCMP arrest home invasion suspect

9:21 AM

A man wanted in connection to a violent home invasion in Selkirk on June 28 has been arrested, said RCMP in a release Friday night.

Police previously arrested two other suspects in the home invasion, in which a gunshot was fired at a homeowner, who was not injured.

Justice Langlois, 28, was also allegedly involved in a pursuit with officers on June 30 and is facing additional charges.

 

Bombers lead Redblacks 11-0 after first Q

OTTAWA — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers lead the Ottawa Redblacks 11-0 after one quarter of play at TD Place.

The Bombers opened with a single-point rouge, then had Sergio Castillo connect on a 52-yard field goal, followed by a one-yard QB sneak touchdown by Dakota Prukop.

The Bombers (4-1) have won eight of the last nine games against the Redblacks (1-3).

Bombers lead Redblacks 18-3 at halftime

OTTAWA — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers head into halftime with an 18-3 lead over the Ottawa Redblacks at TD Place.

The Bombers led 11-0 after the first quarter, as Sergio Castillo connected on a 52-yard field goal and Dakota Prukop punched in a 1-yard QB sneak touchdown. Winnipeg added to their lead in the second quarter after QB Zach Collaros found Nic Demski in the end zone for a 15-yard score.

The Redblacks cut into the lead late in the second frame, with kicker Lewis Ward making it 18-3 with a 47-yard field goal.

Bombers lead Redblacks 25-6 after third Q

OTTAWA — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have a 25-6 lead over the Ottawa Redblacks heading into the fourth quarter at TD Place.

The Bombers led 11-0 after the first quarter, as Sergio Castillo connected on a 52-yard field goal and Dakota Prukop punched in a 1-yard QB sneak touchdown. Winnipeg added to their lead in the second quarter after QB Zach Collaros found Nic Demski in the end zone for a 15-yard score.

The Redblacks cut into the lead late in the second frame, with kicker Lewis Ward making it 18-3 with a 47-yard field goal. The Bombers answered back in the third quarter, with Collaros finding Drew Wolitarksky for an eight-yard TD.

Bombers lose stunner to Redblacks, 31-28, in OT

OTTAWA — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were stunned by the Ottawa Redblacks, falling 31-28 in overtime at TD Place Saturday.

The Bombers, who got three touchdowns from Dakota Prukop, Nic Demski and Drew Wolitarksy, as well as a 52-yard field goal from Sergio Castillo, dropped to 4-2 with the loss. The Redblacks, who countered with three field goals and a defensive TD before rookie QB Dustin Crum rushed for two touchdowns, including the game-winner in extra time, improve to 2-3.

The Bombers return home next week to welcome the 0-6 Edmonton Elks in a Week 6 matchup at IG Field.
