Police seek witnesses to assault outside McLaren Hotel

10:15 AM

Winnipeg police detectives are seeking potential witnesses to a brutal assault outside of the McLaren Hotel in early July.

Officers were called to the hotel at 554 Main St. at about 10 p.m. on July 7, where they found a man in his 50s suffering injuries to his head, police said Thursday.

The man was taken to hospital in unstable condition with injuries police have described as “life-altering.”

Major crimes detectives think numerous people were nearby the hotel at the time of the assault.

Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the assault or may have other information that could identify suspects to call major crimes at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477.
