Robertson suspended one game for head butt on Collaros
3:05 PM
The CFL has issued Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive lineman Pete Robertson a one-game suspension for head-butting Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros late in Sunday’s Labour Day Classic at Mosaic Stadium.
The helmet-to-helmet attack occurred with minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, leading to a go-ahead touchdown by the Bombers. It wasn’t originally called a penalty, but a flag was eventually thrown by the command centre, and Roberston was allowed to remain in a game the Roughriders would win 32-30 in overtime.
Assuming Robertson doesn’t appeal the punishment, he’ll be out for this week’s rematch in the annual Banjo Bowl at IG Field Saturday afternoon.
