Man injured in West End shooting, police investigating
10:29 AM
Winnipeg police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot in the lower body Tuesday night.
Police responded to the 500 block of Furby Street around 9:30 p.m. after receiving reports a man had been shot. A male suspect fled the scene before police arrived, WPS Const. Claude Chancy said Wednesday.
Chancy could not confirm where the shooting occurred, but said a 40-year-old man was located nearby with assistance from the police helicopter. He was transported to the hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.
The victim was uncooperative with police, and the major crimes unit has assumed the investigation, Chancy said.
