One in stable condition after house fire on Manitoba Avenue
12:53 PM
One person was taken to hospital after a duplex caught fire on Manitoba Avenue early Sunday morning.
Fire crews went to the two-story residence just before 12:30 a.m. and battled the blaze from inside before deteriorating conditions forced firefighters outside. Neighbouring homes were evacuated as a precaution.
All but one person from the duplex got out of the building safely. One person was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital in stable condition. No one else was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The home is considered a complete loss.
