Cross Lake RCMP investigate suspicious death

10:45 AM

Mounties in Cross Lake are investigating the suspicious death of a man found dead in a nearby First Nations community.

Police responded to a home in Pimicikamak Cree Nation Friday after receiving reports a man was injured inside, the RCMP said in a news release Saturday.

Officers arrived to find a 47-year-old man from the community dead.

The RCMP’s major crime unit is in the community and leading the investigation into the death, which police have deemed suspicious, the release said.

The community is located roughly 520 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
