Nobody injured in early morning blaze

City fire crews battled a house fire in northwest Winnipeg early Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded to the 1400 block of Bannatyne Avenue West around 6:25 a.m. after receiving reports of a reports of a fire in a a one-and-a-half-storey house, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said in a release.
Crews arrived to find flames and heavy smoke billowing from the home. They were able to enter the structure and fight the fire from inside, declaring the blaze control by 7:40 a.m., the release said.
A subsequent search of the building revealed it was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported, WFPS said
Damage estimates are not available. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
