Winnipeg firefighters extinguished six fires in a span of about 10 hours beginning Tuesday evening and continuing into the early hours Wednesday.
Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews were first sent to a bi-level home in the Elmhurst neighbourhood shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a city news release stated.
All of the residents were able to evacuate before crews arrived.

Firefighters stopped a garage fire on Selkirk Avenue from spreading to nearby houses Tuesday night.
Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the Chiswell Cove house and had it under control by 8:11 p.m.
One person was taken to hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
A few minutes later, as a WFPS crew was returning from another service call, firefighters noticed a garage on the 200 block of Selkirk Avenue in flames.
Additional crews arrived and were able to stop the fire from spreading to the house. The blaze was declared under control at 8:38 p.m. The city’s emergency social services team helped some residents who had evacuated.
Crews were also sent to an apartment block on the first 100 block of Chandos Avenue after a report of a fire at 8:51 p.m.
Firefighters found the blaze in the laundry room and extinguished it by 9:25 p.m. Occupants of the building evacuated and were later able to return to their suites.
A preliminary investigation determined the fire was caused by a malfunction of a dryer.
The spate continued into the morning as firefighters were sent to three additional blazes.
The first was at a three-storey apartment on the 200 block of Colony Street. Residents evacuated the building and returned to their suites after the fire was put out.
Fires at a Tweed Avenue garage at 4:05 a.m. and a commercial building on the 600 block of Washington Avenue at 5:49 a.m. were also doused by crews.
No one was hurt in the either blaze.
All of the fires remain under investigation. No damage estimates were available.
