A multi-vehicle collision involving three tractor trailers and two cars just east of the Manitoba-Ontario border has forced police to close Highway 17 in both directions.

The Ontario Provincial Police closed Highway 17 at Provincial Road 673, Shoal Lake Road, earlier this evening.

The highway is expected to be closed for several hours.

Police said there were no major injuries in the crash.
