Manitoba gets bleak fall, winter outlooks from Weather Network

Most Manitobans can expect a colder, wetter fall and winter, some weather experts say.

The Weather Network released a preliminary outlook today saying weak El Niño conditions developing in the Pacific Ocean point to lower-than-normal winter temperatures from Manitoba east to Quebec.

The network’s meteorologists say Manitobans can expect below-normal temperatures in central and southern areas of the province, with near-normal values in the north. They say near-normal amounts of snow and precipitation are expected across much of the far south and north, with above-normal amounts across central and south-central sections of Manitoba.

The Weather Network said in late November it will release its complete Winter Outlook with additional details and forecasts for each region of Canada.
