RCMP arrested a suspect accused in the homicide of a 45-year-old Duck Bay man Monday.
Marvin Chartrand, 38, of The Pas, was arrested Monday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police had said he was considered armed and dangerous. He’s now charged with second-degree murder in the death of 45-year-old Charles Parenteau.
Parenteau died Sunday in Duck Bay.

When reached by phone in Duck Bay Monday, a relative of Parenteau’s said he was a good man.
“It’s hard,” said Maggie Parenteau, Charles’ cousin. She said she didn’t know anything about the circumstances of his death.
An RCMP spokesman said Monday police could not release any details about the ongoing investigation, nor would they confirm the victim’s identity.
Duck Bay is a community of about 400 people on the western shore of Lake Winnipegosis and about 452 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
