Hey there, time traveller!

THE direct-to-video film tentatively titled American Girl, scheduled to start shooting in Winnipeg July 11 with Nia Vardalos and newcomer Jade Pettyjohn, needs extras.
Applicants need not be either American or a girl.
Pettyjohn plays Velma, a strong-willed young gymnast with Olympic aspirations, whose plans evaporate when she is sidelined by an injury. Vardalos plays her mother.
The film will require female gymnasts between the ages of nine and 12, male and female urban skateboarders between the ages of 11 and 13, as well as males and females from eight to their 60s.
Extras are needed to play students, gymnasts, gymnastics spectators, nature enthusiasts, hikers, horseback riders, and street pedestrians.
Extras will be paid $11 an hour, according to extras casting rep Shelly Anthis. Meal and snacks are provided.
Applicants willing to work from one to three days between July 11 and Aug. 5 are asked to log onto the website www.extrascastingproductions.com for more info and to download the extras casting form. The forms, with an accompanying colour head shot, can be dropped off at the UPS store at 380-955 Portage Ave., from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (addressed to American Girl Extras Casting c/o Shelly Anthis), or may be brought to an open casting call this Saturday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Manitoba Production Centre at 1350 Pacific Ave. Forms will be available at the casting call, and a photographer will be on hand to take photos.
