City hall had to spend $600,000 in June for repairs to streets damaged by snow clearing.
A civic spokesman said the damage had been caused by city crews due to mild temperatures that led to a lack of frost in the ground, which resulted in curb and sod damage across the city.
The cost was detailed in a report to the Friday meeting of council’s finance committee.

The spokesman said private contractors are responsible for repairing damage their crews cause, but taxpayers have to pick up the cost for civic crews.
The report predicts the public works department will overspend its snow-clearing budget for 2017 by $2.6 million, assuming there is mild weather for the remaining winter months.
