Labour Day is in full swing, signalling the last chance for some summer fun before children go back to school, leaves change colour and pumpkin spice everything makes a comeback.

The Free Press will not publish a print edition Monday, which is a statutory holiday, so many government services and businesses change their hours of operation. Here’s a selection:

SHOPPING

Major shopping centres including CF Polo Park, Garden City Shopping Centre, Kildonan Place, Outlet Collection Winnipeg, St. Vital Centre, and Grant Park Shopping Centre are closed Monday.

The Forks Market is open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Most grocery stores, including Safeway, Sobeys, Superstore and Walmart, are closed.

Manitoba Liquor Mart stores in Winnipeg, Brandon and rural areas are also closed. Beer vendors and private wine stores set their own holiday hours, so Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Corporation suggests the best way to find out if the one near you will be open is to call.

ENTERTAINMENT

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Manitoba Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Manitoba Children’s Museum is open 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is closed.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Movie theatres are open.

RECYCLING AND TRASH

Recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled on the civic holiday, for those with Monday as their collection day.

The Brady Road landfill is open 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Brady 4R Depot is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Pacific and Panet 4R Depots are closed.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES

All leisure centres are closed.

All municipal golf courses will be open from dawn to dusk, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

All City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools are closed.

All City of Winnipeg outdoor pools will be open (weather permitting): St. Vital, Transcona Aquatic Park, Fort Garry Lions, Westdale, Freighthouse and Kildonan Park. Operating hours vary by pool.

Six wading pools will be open (weather permitting): Central Park, Dakota Park, Machray Park, Shaughnessy Park, West Kildonan Memorial Community Centre and Westdale. The wading pools are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All spray pads will be open 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m (weather permitting).

WINNIPEG TRANSIT

On Monday, Transit buses will operate on a Sunday schedule. For route and schedule details, visit Winnipeg Transit’s website or contact 311.

LIBRARIES

All Winnipeg Public Library branches are closed. For detailed information on library hours, call 311 or visit the Winnipeg Public Library website.

GOVERNMENT SERVICES

Civic and provincial offices are closed.

The Winnipeg Parking Authority is closed.

The Winnipeg Animal Services is closed.

There is no mail delivery Monday and Canada Post offices are closed, but post offices operated by the private sector will be open according to the hours of service of the host business.

CEMETERIES

Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona cemeteries will be open for visitation from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Cemetery offices will be closed.
