Service has been restored to about 16,400 people who were without power this morning in parts of Transcona, St. Boniface and East Kildonan, Manitoba Hydro says.

Just 480 customers were still without power by 8 a.m., Manitoba Hydro said. The utility expects full service to be restored by 9 a.m.

The outage was due to a hydro pole fire on Dugald Road. Some traffic lights were also reported down as a result.
