Police have busted a fake medical marijuana grow-op in Southdale worth about $750,000.
The raid Tuesday was at an address in the 100 block of Driftwood Bay.
“The search warrant was the conclusion of a lengthy investigation where it was determined that a medical marijuana production licence had been fraudulently obtained,” police said in a statement Wednesday.
Inside, police discovered the home held hundreds of cannabis plants, the statement said.
Police said officers removed 463 living plants with a potential street value of $518,000 and another 225 plants that had been recently harvested. The cut plants were worth an potential street value of $252,000.
Police also removed $30,900 worth of equipment.
A 61-year-old Winnipeg man was charged with drug related offences and released to await a court appearance.
