Winnipeg police believe there may be a witness to a collision on Main Street that claimed the life of an elderly woman who was out for an early morning walk Friday.
The woman was walking in the area of Main Street and Anderson Avenue in the North End about 6 a.m. Friday when she was struck by a motorist, police reported earlier.
They reported that motorist remained on the scene to wait for officers while an ambulance took the injured woman to hospital in critical condition.

Late Friday afternoon, police released a short statement to say the pedestrian had died of her injuries.
Police believe the collision was witnessed by another pedestrian and in a statement Saturday, they appealed for that person to step forward.
