Hey there, time traveller!

Thick, black smoke rose over east Winnipeg Monday morning and continued well into the afternoon after a serious fire broke out at an asphalt plant in North Transcona.
The fire, at Pounder Emulsions in the RM of Springfield’s industrial park, involved roughly four million litres of liquid asphalt and diesel oil.
Fire crews from the rural municipality and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of the fire around 10 a.m.
No one was injured in the fire, but a school and several businesses were evacuated as a precaution. A hold-and-secure at a nearby school has since been lifted.
RM of Springfield Reeve Bob Bodnaruk first saw the smoke from his home not long after the fire started. He lives roughly two kilometres from the asphalt plant.
“It was just a cloud of black smoke. You knew right away you shouldn’t be anywhere near it,” Bodnaruk said.
Pounder Emulsions, which is a division of Husky Oil, is located on Day Street between Gunn and Springfield roads.
A number of area roads, including Day Street, Redonda Street, the north Perimeter Highway and Paulley Drive, are closed to traffic.
Fire crews have made progress battling the blaze. Nonetheless, it continues to burn and emergency personnel expect to be in the area at least until the evening.
No official cause for the fire has been released.
