Many will get a day off work and school to remember Louis Riel’s legacy on the Manitoba holiday that bears his name.

The Free Press will continue to operate Monday, but there will not be a print edition. Subscribers can access the e-edition on the holiday.

Many businesses and government services change their hours over the long weekend. Here’s a selection:

COVID-19 TEST SITES

The drive-through sites at 1066 Nairn Ave. and 125 King Edward St., along with the walk-in site at 1 Research Rd., are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The 820 Taylor Ave. site is open the same hours but offers rapid antigen test pick-up by appointment only.

The walk-in site at the Garrick Centre is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The drive-through site at 1300 Redonda St. is open 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The drive-through site at 1284 Main St. and the road testing site at 604 St. Mary’s Rd. are open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre site is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 2055 Notre Dame Ave. site is open from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Dakota Medical Centre location is open 6 to 10 p.m.

SHOPPING

Polo Park, Kildonan Place, Outlet Collection Centre and St. Vital Centre are open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Grant Park Centre is open 12 to 5 p.m.

The Forks Market is open regular hours.

Most grocery stores, including Safeway, Sobeys, Superstore and Walmart, are open for regular hours.

Manitoba Liquor Mart stores in Winnipeg operate from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., aside from the True North location, which will be closed. For details on exceptions and rural Liquor Mart hours, visit www.LiquorMarts.ca/hours.

Beer vendors and private wine stores set their own hours for the holiday, so Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Corp. suggests the best way to find out if the one near you will be open is to call.

ENTERTAINMENT

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is open regular hours.

The Manitoba Museum is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Children’s Museum is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is closed.

Movie theatres are open regular hours.

RECYCLING AND TRASH

Recycling and garbage will be collected as normal if your collection day is Monday.

The Brady Road landfill is open 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES

All leisure centres are closed except for the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, which is open from 2 to 6 p.m.

City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools are closed except for the Pan Am Pool (open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and the Margaret Grant Pool (open 1 to 5 p.m.).

WINNIPEG TRANSIT

On Monday, buses will operate on a Sunday schedule.

LIBRARIES

All Winnipeg Public Library branches are closed.

CEMETERIES

For information on city cemeteries, visit the municipal cemeteries branch online or contact 311.

GOVERNMENT SERVICES

Civic offices are closed.

The Winnipeg Parking Authority is closed.

The Winnipeg Animal Services Agency is closed.

Mail will be collected and delivered as regular by Canada Post on Monday.
