Winnipeg Comiccon has unveiled part of its inaugural 2020 lineup.

Attendees at the three-day event (Oct. 30-Nov. 1) at the downtown RBC Convention Centre will be able to meet actors John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Arrow) and Lou Ferrigno, the man behind the main character in TV’s The Incredible Hulk.

There will be more than 100 planned activities, including workshops, panels and board games, organizers said. Celebrity guests will sit down for question-and-answer periods, and there will be opportunities for pictures and autographs.

The convention run by Montreal-based Capeflow Productions covers a wide range of pop culture — science-fiction, fantasy, anime, horror, etc. — and will help fill the hole in Winnipeggers’ hearts left by this year’s shuttering of the long-running Central Canada Comic Con (C4).

“We looked at it as an opportunity to bring what we’ve brought to other Canadian cities,” Jason Rockman, a spokesman for Capeflow, said Monday.

Winnipeg Comiccon will have around 450 exhibitors, artists and vendors.

“We definitely want participation from people locally,” Rockman said.
